In the Shikshapatri, Maharaj has said that, "If one is harassed by ghosts, evil spirits, etc. then do not invoke or chant the name of a minor deity.(Chant the SwaminarayanMahamantra)(Shloka 202). Maharaj Himself has said that He will come to protect us if we are in trouble. Then why should we be scared? If the Greatest of all Gods, ShrijiMaharaj is with us, then no one can defeat us. If we pray with our hearts to God during trouble, then He will surely listen to us. Just like Gajendra, the elephant king, we will be saved from our trouble.

We can be going along, serving God, stepping out in faith and then all of a sudden, without there being any justification for it, we'll have a day or week when we have an attack on our mind about fear. Bhagwan is present, maybe not physically, but mentally and emotional he is there, ever present. He stands as a sign of hope. We can be so afraid of being judged or criticized or getting laughed at. But the only thing fear does in our lives is stop our progress. He's calling us to be bold—fearless in approaching Him, in stepping out in faith, and in trusting Him to lead us.
