    Respecting our Parents

Respecting our Parents

Respecting our parents is our dharma as a son or daughter. Do you bow down to your parents? If not, how will you start? What are some other ways that we can always be respectful to our parents?

Sometimes, we think our parents cannot understand us and they get in the way of our happiness. This is why many of us have experienced rebelling against our parents at some point, especially when we were still teenagers. According to me Respect their decisions: There could be some decisions that my parent’s make that I do not agree with. I can try telling them my thoughts about those, but if they do not accept my ideas, just accept and respect them.

Some ways you can be respectful to our parents are: bowing down to your parents, giving them water, doing simple tasks like getting the clothes in the wash, folding clothes, helping them in doing dishes and cooking and helping our parents and looking out for them just like they do for us. It is so important to respect our parents because they care for us and we do not care for them and that’s being rude to our parents. Our parents have feelings and if we hurt them that is so rude so that is why we should respect our loving and caring parents.

I bow down to my parents. Another way to be respectful is by never arguing with them and do what they tell me to do without yelling at them.

'MATRU DEVO BHAV! PITRU DEVO BHAV!' YES I DAILY BOW DOWN TO MY PARENTS AND SAY JAY JAY...IN MY KALI GHELI BHASHA. MY PARENTS TEACH ME THAT BOW DOWN TO EVERY ONE AND GIVE RESPECT TO ALL. I THINK THAT IF I FOLLOWING AGNA OF MAMMA PAPA THEN THEY WILL BE HAPPY. WHEN I WAS NOT BORN, FROM THAT TIME MY PARENTS GAVE ME "GARBHSANSKAR" AS PER PUJYA DOCTOR SWAMI. SO I RESPECT THEM A LOT. AND THEY WANT TO SEE ME AS SADHU OF BAPS. I MUST BECOME A SADHU AND DO THE SEVA OF BAPS AND PRAGAT GURU. JAY SWAMINARAYAN TO ALL.

Jay Swaminarayan My Freinds, there a lot of ways of helping our parents not only bowing to them i have some more ways to help your parents. 1.Washing your own clothes- at least you can wash your own clothes to reduces our mum's time 2.Wash your own dishes after eating-You can just wash your dishes or if sometimes you have visitors you can also help your mum wash those dishes 3.You can help them when they ask for something -i mean when they ask for you a spoon don't ask any excuses just go and get. These are some of the ways that you can also help them apart form bowing. Jay Swaminarayan

Jai Swaminarayan. Respect is a fundamental virtue, especially in satsang. It is Maharaj and Swami's wish that we all respect each other and live with samp, suhradhbhav and ekta. Furthermore, respecting our parents is our duty (dharma). Our parents selflessly shower love on us every day. But what do we do? We take them for granted and always complain on the tiniest things. They've sacrificed so much, just for our happiness and they've given us the gift of life. How could we forget, they've taught us the difference between right and wrong and supported us all the time. Without them, we wouldn't be where we are right now. We can show our love and gratitude by a simple gesture of respect. Even the sloka says "Matru devo bhava, Pitru devo bhava", meaning we should treat our mother and father as God. This includes bowing down to them after your puja, listening to their commands and helping them out selflessly (seva).

Forget all of things but don't forget to your parents .As Swami Bapa Says that we should bow down to our elders and respect them and give response to them . We should follow the right path of Bhakti. By giving respect to them they will also feel happy and proud. By doing all these activities our life will be peaceful and relaxing and memorable.

Jai Swaminarayan We can be respectful to our parents by helping them out, not speaking back to them, and bowing down to them. We have to realize that our parents do so much for us, so we should thank them and do something for them. I promise to respect my parents and help them in whatever chores they need help with. I will thank them for the effort they put in to raise me as an adarsh balika.

Jai Swaminarayan A couple ways you can be respectful to your parents are, you can do house hold chores such as, cleaning the house, or putting your toys away, make your bed, do the dishes, and making diner. This is one way we can be respectful to our parents. Another way we can be respectful to our parents is listening to what they say, and treat them as god. Or even study when they tell us to and never fall back in your grades, often Bapa use to say Hard Work + Prayer = Success. These are some ways you can be respectful to your parents.

My name is tej and I bow down to my parents four times a day. I like bowing down because I like to stretch down to offer good luck. My parents pat me on the back and chest for bowing down. Swamis likes panchang pranam so I will continue to do it. I am respectful to them also by saying yes to what they say and following all of their agnas.

I bow my parents every morning by doing panchang pranam. One can respect their parents by not talking with them in a loud voice, appreciate every little thing they do for you, obeying their words , respecting them, listening their advice, being a best daughter or a son and the last, be thankful for your parents’ love and sacrifices for you

I do bow down to my parents everyday after puja. I also bow down to my grandparents because they are also older than me. Some other ways we can help out our parents are helping them around the house. We can help out with dishes, sweeping, and any other things they need help with. Also we can help them mentally by listening to whatever they say.

Jai Swaminarayan. Bhagwan has given us parents. Let’s all do are best to take care after them as they did for you. First, in the morning, after puja, we could do Panchang Pranam and ask for their blessings. It is said in one of the Shastras, Puranas, or some other sacred text or texts Matru Devo Pitru Devo. We could help our parents time to time in the day with their work. When they come home from work, we could give them food, water, etc. and do other seva like pressing and massaging their legs arms, listening to them and letting them relax by being good,  and help by doing seva like pressing their feet, bringing them things like water, medicine, food and other things. We could be good and Ideal Balaks and just follow the rules of the Shikshapatri because it does say how and to take care of your parents. I have covered as much possible situations as I could at the time, so this is not a Supreme Copy. Jai Swaminarayan.
