My Favorite Festival

My favourite Festival is Fuldol. I like it because Prumukh Swami Maharaj is carrying on the wish of Shreeji Maharaj and Gunatitand Swami of applying the colours of Holi in 'antar' and on 'heart' so that everyone can enjoy the Holi with the thought that we are playing Holi with Shreeji Maharaj and enjoy his divine colours.People apply colours on body but bapa applys divine colours on peoples 'souls'.

My favourite festival is Fuldolotsav, especially when I am at Sarangpur. When I was there, we had to sit there at the early morning. There was a humongous queue waiting for Bapa to spray 'rang' on them. Kirtans related to Dhuleti were sung whilst Bapa sprayed 'rang' on the haribhaktos. I had that divine experience twice; in 2000 and in 2004. That was a divine experience I could never forget. This is why it is my favourite festival.

When I went to India last year, it was Diwali. It was fun because everyone was lighting fireworks. I bowed to my grandparents and my parents. I also had some great food and sweets. I also got a lot of gifts. Finally I went to the temple. Diwali is great.

my favourite festival is holi Prahlad's story. Hiranyakashipu, a demon king and father of Prahlad, was a dissenter of Bhagwan Vishnu, whom Prahlad worshipped. Infuriated by his son's devotion, Hiranyakashipu attempted to kill him. In one attempt, he instructed his sister Holika, to wear her miraculous sari, which could not burn, and then sit in a fire with Prahlad in her lap. By the Lord's wish, she happened to wear the wrong garment and was immolated. Symbolically, maya, in the form of Holika, was destroyed by Prahlad's staunch devotion. Therefore to eradicate our maya, we should offer unalloyed bhakti. this is why we celebrate holi and in england there is a giant fire and we go around the fire and remember prahalad Jai swaminarayan

My another festival is Holi and Fuldol because in Fuldol Bapa spread Kesudo colour to all and that colour is changing my colour of life and it says that I must live life in Bapa's yagna. "Bapa ni ruchi pramane no jivan te Adarsh jivan".

My favorite festival is Diwali. Diwali is a festival of lights and colurs because crackers are bursted and lamps are lit. Diwali is the day when Ankaut is offered to Bhagwan Swaminarayan, more than 10,000 dishes are piously and purely offered in all BAPS mandir through out the world. Diwali is also celebrated as the home coming of Bhagwan Ram from exile of 14 years. The importance for us Hindu's is Chopda pujan (opening of books of accounts). The 2nd day of Diwali is celebrated as New Year.On this day people visit relatives, neighbours and freinds, exchange gifts, offer sweets, greetings and chocolates. People especially woman draw rangolis and light diyas {devo}. Diwali is a 5 day festival. It is a fun in diwali and one more thing people visit Mandir {temple} every day of Diwali. I especially enjoy my Diwali as all buy new clothes, articles and gifts. For me this festival is a offering to Swaminarayan bhagwan and swami bapa to pray for peace, prosperity and brotherhood among all of us.

My favourite festival is Holi. I like to think of it as the festival of colours just like Diwali is thought of as the festival of lights. Holi is like a rainbow that brings the whole family together, from the two ends, straight to the middle. I like to colour everyone with colours that are bright. Holi will always be my favourite festival.

My favorite fetival would have to be Diwali. During Diwali everyone is happy, optimistic, and hopeful for the new year to be even better than the one we are leaving. It is a time where families and friends get together and have fun with eachother. During Diwali we also get to decorate our mandir and to do a lot of seva. But I think that the best and most important thing about Diwali is that during this time we get to thank our beloved Lord Sahajanand Swami for all the things he has done and given us in the year. Every year I look forward to Diwali as a day of all around exhillaration!
