Satsang Reading

Mahant Swami Maharaj reminds us in Satsang Diksha verses 74 and 276 that we should read satsang books every day. Swamishri himself reads often, too! What satsang literature do you like the most? Why so? Is there a particular story from this book that you like the most?

I like the story from Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s Jivan Charitra where Swamishri had a 102-degree fever but still did 122 padhramanis that day.

I like Shlok 209 of the Satsang Diksha because it motivates us to do well in school. In this way, it gives us direction in life as satsangis.

I really enjoy reading Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s jivan charitra. I especially like the stories in it that describe Bapa’s interactions with children. From Swamishri’s jivan charitra, I made a list of all the places where his birthday celebrations were held from 1968 to 2021, and I’ve even memorized the list. Out of all satsang books, this one is my favourite.

I like the Shri Neelkanth book that has large paintings and stories from Neelkanth’s life. I like this book because it has Bhagwan's prasangs, and it teaches me to be brave. In this book, I really like the story of Tapomurti Neelkanth doing tap in Pulhashram for two and a half months.

I love all satsang books because they teach me important lessons, help me improve my life, help me create a better bond with my parents, and help me increase my knowledge

Mahant Swami Maharaj tells us to read satsang books every day. I like reading books that teach us about being kind, helping others, and being good friends. One story that I like is about the person who helped others without expecting anything in return. It makes me want to be a better person and help others, too!

One of my favorite pieces of satsang literature is Bal Prakash. I like it because it teaches me new things that I can use for my daily satsang life. One of my favorite stories from it is A Bee and a Beetle because it teaches me that we should move closer to satsang and stay away from maya.

My favorite type of satsang literature is comic books. I like to read them because they have sound effects like pop, slam, and so much more. It makes the books so interesting.

I like to read the Vachanamrut because it teaches you things that Bhagwan Swaminarayan himself said.

My favorite satsang literature is the Satsang Diksha. That’s because it helps me understand what is right and wrong and helps me feel like I am getting closer to Maharaj and Swami.

Jai Swaminarayan! I think every granth is beautiful in its own way! The raag of reading the Vachnamrut is such a wonderful melody, and reading Swamini Vato sounds like talking to Gunatitanand Swami himself! However, I think my favorite granth of all time would have to be the Yogi Gita. The way Yogi Bapa tells stories and his admiration for his gurus is so touching. And reading his prarthana goes to show how humble and caring he is. It’s like listening to Yogi Bapa talking in person!
