The Servant's Servant
The inspiration I get is to serve others. Even though Yogigi Maharaj was such a great guru he still served the youths who were much younger than him. When the youths saw Yogi Bapa doing the laundry they, all of a sudden, wanted to do it because they felt bad for Yogigi Maharaj but when they knew that the servant would do it they didn't care a bit.The same way we should all serve our parents.Yogi Bapa was so old but he didn't care and he helped do the laundry and most of the time our parents are the one doing all the work, cleaning up after us, and wasting their time on things we should be doing everyday.I think this is one of the most spiritual and inspirational pasang I have ever written in my life.Jay Swaminarayan!

I get a very big inspiration from this prasang! The inspiration that I get is that no matter who's stuff it is, for ex. in this prasang the clothes, even if they are not yours, you should still wash them just like Yogi Bapa did. This also goes with other things like washing the dishes, even if they are not yours, you should still wash the dishes. At mandir, if you serve the food to people even though you think its not helping you, it is because by doing that kind of stuff you are doing seva. I think that by doing seva thats one more step into going to Akshardham. That is why I think that this prasang gave me a very big inspiration!

I am inspried to do seva from this incident. We all never really do things for others when we think about it. I want to be more like Yogi Bapa in the way that he always sntched the opportunites to serve. i want to be like him in that way. I want to help others now. Even if I am not told to do something I will grab the opportunity just like Jogi Bapa did. =)

From this prasang I get the inspiration that I should try to do such a seva like Yogi Bapa. Just like how Yogi Bapa did this seva without anytone telling him to do it, I too want to learn how to do a seva without anyone telling me to do it. From now on when I see that an oppertunity for me has come to do seva I will automatically do that seva, weather it is something that I don't like to do. By doing this seva I will be able to make Maharaj and Swami happy and go to Akshardham. Jai swaminarayan

The inspirition I get from Yogiji Maharaj's prasang is that to take your chance when you see any kinds of seva. Suppose you're at mandir and you are playing with your friends and a sanchalak comes up and says to go clean the bathroom. Would you do it or not? Well, if that same question was asked to Yogiji Maharj, he'd say sure, why not? I also learned that THAIE YOGI JEVA....... we should be like Yogiji Maharaj especially in seva. Clearly, Yogiji Maharj is an excellent role model when doing seva and that's why Yogiji Maharaj is a sevabhavi sant!!!!!!

JAI SWAMINARAYAN The inspiration I got from the incident (servant's servant) is that everything is not in our hands but it is in God's hands. We may think that we are Kings or Queens but in reality we are slaves, slaves of God. We have come in this world for a special reason. The reason is that we do seva, bhakti and make bapa happy by doing good things like studying etc... So why not take this opportunity to please BHAGWAN SWAMINARAYAN and go to Akshardham forever. JAI SWAMINARAYAN

This inspired me to do more seva for the mandir. Not just for the mandir, but for all. Places like home, school, etc. It also inspired me to do seva for people younger than me. Also that age doesn't matter for who you do seva for.

I learned that even though Yogi Bapa, was a guru, he washed not his clothes, but the youths clothes! He could have told the servents to do it, but he didn't! I've learned that even though a guru is a the president of all presidents, he does more work than a president does!

Yogiji Maharaj's jivan mantra was seva. Since childhood he was very fond of seva. Being a mahant, he used to make 300 rotlas everyday. From the above incidence, we should learn to do seva, whether its small or big, by wealth, by body or by mind. Always accept seva as your fortune. We pray guruhari to give us the satsang seva now and always

I learnt that Yogi Bapa liked to be a servant to all the volunteers. I learnt from the story that I would like to help people in life.

As a swayamsevaka we everybody should finish our own daily work. We should be active to improve the actual quality of swayamsevaka. Even also in the sickness and physical disability we should try to help ourself. Feel happy in helping others & teammembers. Dedicate ourself to society.

I get inspired that we shouldn't be egoist. And, one more thing that we should stay as a "das no das" meaning a servant of a servant.

Mukti G. Patel (13)

The selection above inspirsme that even though bapa could have just left the clothes there he washed them not because he had to but because he wanted to. It tells me that if anything is laying around insted of just walking past it i should pick it up and help some one and if not that than the world around you. Jay swaminarayan.

I get the inspiration that we should do and think good of everybody.I have heard many good stories of Yogi Bapa, which have inspired me.From this picture and story,I get the inspiration that"WE SHOULD WORK HARD FOR OURSELVES AND FOR OTHERS TOO."

We learn that we should always do seva and be a swayam-sevak. Things we can do include: -Helping parents -obeying niyams When we do this, we feel much more better than we felt before doing it. Doing seva for anyone we know is good. Doing seva at the Mandir is the best place to do seva. At home, you can wash the dishes and study hard that is another way of doing seva.

- We should always do our own chores and do not leave them for someone else to do. - Never be lazy in your own responsibility. - Always be willing to do seva. - Don't leave any work till tomorrow.

I am totally inspired by how Yogiji maharag acted like a servants servant. It helped me understand what ego can create just by having some. So it is best to try to get rid of ego at this age. So when you grow up it will not bother you because you tried to get rid of it and succeded. My best will try to be done for all I have said and understood from this totally inspireing article once and for all. Jai Swaminarayan to all.

What nirmanipanu in washing his own sevaks' clothes...what mahima that, "Oh! I am washing haribhaktos' clothes! Akshardham na Muktas' clothes!"... Nirmanipanu and mahima...those gunas of Yogi Bapa really touch me and inspire me to do seva...

It inspires me to go and ask my sanchalaks to assign me whatever seva needs to be done, especially since Yogi Bapa valued doing seva himself so much. Just as a broom removes dirt from the floor, seva removes dirt from our soul. We should remember that our mandir is Bhagwan's home and we should look and find seva, without anyone telling us to do seva. If we keep up the habit of doing selfless seva, we will make Swami Bapa very happy!

Sankalp P. Patel (11)

I want to do seva in the mandir too. I want to keep the mandir clean because it is God's home. I want to sweep the floor and pick up the garbage to keep my mandir clean. I want to serve food to people that come to sabha. I want to take the Arti to the people.

This story gives me the inspiration that yogi bapa loved seva and bhakti from the very start. It tells me that yogi bapa cares alot about all his devotees. This incident that bapa does at an old age gives me the inspiration to do seva for devotees. After all in good of others lies our own.

Wow! What a prasang. Yogi Bapa was truly an inspiring and heart-touching individual! After reading this prasang I feel so privilidged to have the seva of building this mandir in Atlanta. Afterall, how many people get the chance to build a mandir? Not many. Therefore, this summer I am going to do as much as seva as I can admist the production of this gorgeous mandir. Also when Swami comes this summer to America, I am going to get the maximum amount of labh that I can.

Jsn i think that this prasan ginspires me alot, Yogibapa always used to say that "I am not a leader! I am but a meek servant. My importance lies as a dishwasher. In doing Menial Seva". This tells me that i have to each and very haribhakto's seva no matter how old they are whether they are younger or older it is my duty as a Satsangi to do their seva. Swami Bapa kahe chhe ke "Das na Das thaine rahevu". Taking this account I think that both Yogiji Maharaj and Prmaukh Swami Maharaj both play such a massive role in my life they inspre me to da max and i leanr alot from looking back to the life our guru's have lived. Jsn

The inspiration that I got from this inspiring incident is that seva is very important. Seva is important because first of all it helps others too. For example if you are cleaning something for some one else then the other person experiences cleanliness (like the incident with Swami bapa.) Second of all, seva is important because it helps us reach moksh. Doing seva we please Bapa and Maharaj. That is the inspiration of this incident and why it is important.

This is an inspiring prasang. It tells me the true meaning of seva.It is not only to pick up trash because someone tells you to, but it is to do it lovingly with Maharaj and Swami in mind. Also, this prasang inspires me to never be lazy. If you see a piece of paper on the floor, pick it up, even if you didn't throw it there. This is the inspiration this prasang gave me.

I learned that servants and volunteers do not have to do everything for you.Sometimes you should do common things without having someone do it for you.I have an example. My grandparents are old and need help. They have a helper. One time my grandma was up in the morning, her helper was late and she made breakfast herself without help.

yogji maharajs heart is fillede with love for maharaj none eles and we can show this by doing seva.we may think that there are people lower then us that should the this cleaning up so why should we. but yogili maharaj did'nt thinhk like this he was the most respected and higest sant then still .he did not care that even a high sant like him is doing all this seva even at this age.so we should look up to him as a ideal rolemouuld and help out and show mahraj that you love him.

Jai Swaminarayan to all. Bapa and Yogi Bapa and all of our gurus are the most humbling people on this earth. If you just look into their eyes you will see someone so pure and free from worldly "I-ness and mine-ness". Look at our beloved Bapa, for example on the day that he became the president of a huge sanstha he sits in the corner and washes the dishes. As Yogi Bapa always says " Dasna Das rehvana", to live as the servant of a servant. Its these prasangs that make us so humbled... Jai Swaminarayan

Yogi Bapa always tried to do seva. At times we also do ignore seva. There was a prasang with Bapa. At a mandir he was passing by the bathroom when he saw the bathroom was dirty. So he went in and cleaned the bathroom. Everyone thought he went to the bathroom. So next time I am not going to ignore SEVA.

from the incident above, i learned that yogi bapa wasn't just a saint, he was a swayamsevak. he wanted to be like everyone else, himself. he didn't just order people to do things for him. even though he was a great saint, he still does things for other people like in the story above. that's the inspiration i got from the incident.

To me it means that we should always act as a swayamsevaks (volunteers) to everyone everywhere. If we do seva then Maharaj and swami will be proud of us. Even if you are serving a sick person or a healthy person you should always serve everyone in every way. "JAY SWAMINARAYAN"

i had learned that yogi bapa does not care about if hes a higher person, he is just like other sevaks,so he wants to do seva with the other sevaks ,that means that he loves his sevaks alot and loves to do seva.

Jai Swaminarayan, Well, I saw that Yogiji Maharaj had started washing clothes of haribhaktos because he found that was easy. And he didn't want that mess around there for some couple of days or weeks to wait for the servant to wash that. So, I think seva karvi e to bahu motu bhagya(luck) chhe. If it is in your hand you have a key to the world. So, never be afraid or fell something to do any type of seva.
