The most important aspect of the Shikshapatri is that even though it was written about two centuries ago, it is still applicable today, in our contemporary world. It is timeless. Maharaj writes with such experience on the topics that even the world’s greatest can learn from them. It has been said that if the whole world obeyed the Shikshapatri, there would be no need for a judicial system. We should feel extremely fortunate that Shriji Maharaj has left us this Shikshapatri; our manual of life and our map to Akshardham.

They help us become a better person and if we follow the commands then we will definitely go to akshardham. So if we want to get moksha and go to akshardham you have to obey the shikshapatri, it is like our guide to life. Different religions have different religious books to guide them through their life so they can make their own lives better such as Christians have the bible Muslims have the Qur’an. Well ,we have many scriptures, but how do we get to akshardham? By obeying the rules of the shikshapatri and reading 5 shlokas daily. Bhagwan Swaminarayan has said: ' Whoever obeys this shikshapatri will learn the true meaning of life.' and he has also said in his second shloka in the Gems of Shikshapatri: 'think about the reason for me writing this shikshapatri here today on the day of........' What is the reason he has written it then? So that we can attain moksha. So if we read the shikshapatri daily from today surely we will one day be sitting in gods lap in akshardham, won't we? Jai Swaminarayan, I think we should obey the shikshapatri because Bhagwan will be happy on us. We will be granted salvation to akshardham. We will achieve our goals.
