Niyams to observe during the month of Shravan
From the list of Niyams given below, which ONE Niyam would you prefer most and why? Write in 5-7 sentences
This year, according to the commands laid down in the Shikshapatri by Bhagwan Swaminarayan and also in accordance to the wishes of Pramukh Swami Maharaj and Sadgurus santos's agna, all balaks and balikas should observe the niyams from the list below:
Niyams are to be a observed from 20th July to 17 August 2012.
1. Do ektana during the month of Shravan –
(younger or less able bal-balikas may do either 1 week or 15 days of ektana).
2. In your ghar mandir or at your local hari mandir, perform 6 dandvats and 11 pradakshinas daily.
3. In your ghar mandir or at your local hari mandir, sing the evening arti and ashtaks daily.
4. Read one prasang from '108 Prasang Mala- Inspiring Satsang Story' every day.
5. For the good health of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, do 1 extra mala every day in your puja or before going to sleep at night.
6. Bring two new friends to your local bal-balika sabha.
7. Sit in the ghar sabha which takes place in your home.

I prefer the niyam of doing ghar sabha every day or once a week in your home. I think this is most beneficial because you sit down with your family and do Satsang with them which builds a special bond in the family. During that ghar sabha you may sing dhun, prathana , kirtan, or even read a prasang from the 108 Prasang Mala. A family that prays together stays together. This will also help you get closer to god.

God has given us this life to do good things with, not bad things. We should wake up at 6am, have a shower, and perform our morning nitya puja. We should not even drink water before doing puja. We should do 11 extra malas every day. Do aarti once a day. Obey our parents. Study hard. Try to get good marks on our exams and tests.

I would choose to sit in the ghar sabha which takes place at home. Making Swamishri happy at other places is fun, but trying to make Swami happy at home is unusual. Most kids don’t even think about doing ghar sabha. Therefore, ghar sabha is the best choice!

During the month of Shravan, we should always take extra niyams. One of them is doing one extra mala for Bapa's health. We should do this because Bapa is already ninety-two. He's using a pace maker, has had Bypass Surgery, and can't even walk. Bapa does so much for us, so doing one extra mala is the least we can do for him. So during Shravan, we should do one extra Mala for Bapa's health.

Jay Swaminarayan, I want to take the fifth niyam which is for the health of Swami Bapa. I want to take this niyam because he is my life. We are doing each and every thing in Satsang and for our studies to please him. If he would not be there, then to whom would we pray to, to whom we will listen. We do darshan to please our eyes; we listen to the aashirvad to please our ears.

I most prefer reading from Prasang Mala and other Satsang Books because from reading I can expand my Satsang knowledge, and then I can share my knowledge with others and help them expand their knowledge as well. Also, because Maharaj has told Gunatitanand Swami that "Vato karvi e shresht chhe," and one can only do 'vato' after reading from our Satsang books.

I like to do ektana during the month of shravan, as it keeps me healthy in the monsoon season and it increases my concentration for my studies.

I would prefer reading prasangs from '108 Prasang Mala- Inspiring Satsang Story' every day because it tells you about BAPS, our Gurus and it also gives you more information about our Sanstha.

I would pick the niyam to bring two friends to mandir because then they can get all the respect and all the knowledge of Satsang, and also they can meet new people.

The niyam I liked is reading one prasang from the “108 prasang mala-inspiring Satsang story” book. I like it because we can know more about our religion, increase our reading skills, and we can make Swami Bapa happy.

I would do 1 extra mala every day in my puja or before I go to sleep at night for Swami Bapa’s good health, because I really want Bapa to feel good and be healthy.
