The children were divided
into groups of five, and with the permission of the hospital management,

a wide variety of illness.
The children, with the permission of patients and relatives’ would
recite the Shanti Path – Vedic prayers for peace. They enquired
about the nature of the illness and chanted the Swaminarayan dhun to
pray for a full and speedy recovery. Then they would tie a nada-chhadi
as symbol of divine protection and friendship.
The ages of patient ranged from as young as 8 days to over 80 years.
All the patients and relatives were touched by the caring sentiments
and prayers offered by children. The prayers brought peace to the patients
and relatives in this particularly testing time.
Through their involvement in these visits, the children also learnt
how to empathize with the difficulties of others.
