Saturday, May 17 was a special day for the BAPS Bangalore Bal Mandal as they were invited to conduct a ‘Vyasan Mukti’ program at the UDBHAVA hospital in Bangalore. They met about 50 people at the hospital and explained to them the ill effects of alcohol, tobacco, television and consuming non vegetarian and eggitarian products. The balaks responded very enthusiastically to the patient & relatives queries. Overall the exhibition and the personal discussions were well received by the patients and the relatives. The balaks also performed Dhun for the quick recovery of the patients’ health and their continued well-being.
An interesting Prasang took place at the hospital. One of the patient’s relative by the name of Prasad was discussing with a balak about the ill effects of TV. He was mentioning that he was a TV addict and watched TV for more than 6 hours every day. The balak implored him to stop viewing TV and also explained how watching TV could be disastrous for the viewer, both physically and mentally. Prasad immediately came back with the question to the balak, “Do you watch TV”? Prompt came the balak’s reply, “No, not at all. It is my Guru’s aagna not to watch TV”. Prasad was taken back by the courage and the discipline exhibited by the balak. He immediately took the balak to meet the other relatives and asked him to repeat the ill effects of TV to them. Everybody was impressed by the balak’s faith in his Guru Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj, especially when they were told that this balak was born in USA.
This illustrates how Swamishri nurtures devotees of all ages and installs confidence and courage in balaks to do the right thing regardless of what others do.
