To arrest pollution, green revolution is the best solution. This was the theme adapted by the BAPS Swaminarayan Vidyamandir, Raysan as we celebrated ‘Plantation Day’ on 1st August 2016.

The students of primary section had gathered in the auditorium to celebrated this day. The invited guests were Shri Ashishkumar Dave – Chairman of GUDA, Shri Pravinbhai B.Patel – Mayor of Gandhinagar and international guests – the principal of The Swaminarayan School London, Shri Umesh Raja and their staff Mr Justin, Ms Kathyrin, Mrs Jas who were also there to grace the occasion. The programme began with a prayer conducted by the students and was followed by students performing skits on the day’s theme.

In his address to the assembly, Shri Ashishkumar Dave said that it is duty of each of us to act as role models. To do service to humanity by planting new trees. He gave the message that everyone should take an oath to grow a tree. The honourable mayor of Gandhinagar also supported this message in his address. Sadhus from BAPS also spoke and inspired the assembly on this occasion.

After the assembly, the guests and children planted saplings and, as a symbol of their dedication to caring for these planted trees, the children named the trees as well.
