    BAL VIKAS PARVA – AUGUST 2010
MÃRÃ ÃDARSH…

Through the divine grace of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and the blessings of Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj, Nairobi Bal Mandal organized Bal Vikas Parva for balaks during August school vacation under the able guidance of Bhaktavatsal Swami, Akhandmuni Swami and sant mandal. The parva program was spread over 3 weekends - 7th and 8th August (1st weekend), 14th and 15th August (2nd weekend) and finally on 21st and 22nd August (3rd weekend). Balaks arrived on Saturday at 4:00pm and stayed overnight at the mandir. The parva program use to end at 1:00 pm on Sunday.
A total of 65 balaks attended the parva over the 3 weekends.
In the 1st weekend kids learnt about:-

  • Bhagwan Swaminarayan              -              Sarvopari Bhagwan.
  • Gunatitanand Swami                     -              Mul Aksharbrahma.
  • Swami’s vartan.
  • Pragji Bhagat                                     -              Jivan (life) of Pragji Bhakta and Murti of seva (service).

In the 2st weekend kids learnt about:-

  • Shastriji Maharaj                             -              Jivan of Shastriji Maharaj.
  • Upãsanã pravartak (Propagator of Upãsanã).
  • I can (Shastriji Maharaj)
  • Yogiji Maharaj                                  -              Jivan of Yogiji Maharaj.
  • Aarsh drashti. (Foresight)
  • Niyam Dharma.

In the 3st weekend kids learned about: -

  • Pramukh Swami Maharaj             -              Jivan of Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
  • Bhagwãnã Akhand-dhãrak Sant (God-realised Sant).
  • Chokshai (Perfection).
  • Sanstha Parichay.
  • Mandir.

Balaks received blessings from Bhaktavatsal Swami who talked on how to become a good and ãdarsh balak to please our Guru Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj by elaborating on how Pragji Bhakta pleased his guru. Divyatanay Swami and Tapovatsal Swami also came and gave strong presentation on various topics to make kids get close to our beloved Guru Hari Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Through an inspiring video presentation, small live dramas and practical activities balaks got to understand the hardships our Ãdarsh Guru’s faced and we should also be like them and follow their footsteps.
At the end of the parva, balaks took a test to see how much they learned from the parva. They were asked about their opinions and they all loved the parva saying that they have really learned a lot about their Ãdarsh Guru’s. They reiterated that they will also make a sincere effort to tell others about their Ãdarsh Guru’s and try and implement it into their personal life as well.
