Fun-o-tsav, held on
27th May 2006, was an event not just for entertainment of balaks but
also to develop skills such as teamwork, sports and importantly build
a greater bond between them. Broad ranges of activities were planned
and were split in two sections, indoor and outdoor.
The day started off at Parramatta
Park, one of the largest parks in Sydney, where the outdoor session
was held. The balaks registered and meanwhile a clown amused everyone
by doing various tricks and saying humorous jokes. The balaks participated
in many challenging games that required co-ordination, power speed
and also teamwork. For every game, balaks received points if they
were showing good sportsmanship or winning. Activities undertaken
in the outdoor session included: Vortex challenge, Bullrush, Catching
Water Balloons and Cricket.
After the outdoor activities,
the balaks were transported back to the Mandir, where lunch was provided.
Soon after lunch, the indoor session began, involving a variety of
games and activities such as Tug-O-War, Sack races and Gulab Jambun
eating Competitions.
These activities were also demanding in many aspects. Once all the
indoor activities had ended, the balaks were rewarded with 2 jumping
castles. They thoroughly enjoyed this surprise activity.
Time came for the Prize giving
ceremony. Parents arrived, and prizes were given for best and fairest,
and also for the different activities throughout the day. All balaks
who attended Fun-o-tsav went home taking not just some sort of prizes
but a bag full of memories.
Overall 40 balaks attended Fun-o-tsav.
Fun-o-tsav 2006 was a great
success due to the help of many volunteers including Kishores, Yuvaks
and the Parents themselves. |
