On the 1st of July
2006, Get Well Soon Prayer was held at the Children’s Hospital
at Westmead, the largest and the most advanced Hospital for sick children
in Sydney.
A group of selected
17 balaks and balikas arrived at the Hospital at 4:00pm with a warm
welcome from the Catholic Chaplain of the hospital.
A tour around the hospital
was arranged for the group in which they had a first person view of
how a hospital really operates and treats their patients. This tour
really touched the hearts of the Kids as they saw sick children who
have been spending so much of their time in the Hospital away from
family and friends
Bal-Balika then met
one of the patients of whom chaplain mentioned about during tour,
a boy at the age of two years old and had currently just recovered
from a heart surgery due to having a hole in the heart from birth.
The mother of the child was pleased to inform the group of how he
was admitted to the hospital and what he had to go through.
After the 45min tour,
everyone settled in the prayer hall and did their part of Praying
to Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Pramukh Swami Maharaj by chanting Swaminarayan
Mahamantra and singing Prayer along with a small speech by balak,
on Importance of Prayer describing benefits of prayer and how our
gurus have performed prayer throughout their life.
At 5.15pm, the kids
prepared some ‘Get well Soon’ cards for the sick children.
“In the joy
of others, lies our own” an inspirational thought by Pramukh
Swami Maharaj, was accentuate in all attendees and at the end of the
day all kids have determined to heighten, the virtue of support ,
to needy in their life |
