Unity and Oneness
are indeed rare facets of this modern world, yet between the 2nd and
3rd of October 2006, over 75 Balaks/Balikas of the BAPS Swaminarayan
Mandir Sydney came together and experienced the true meaning of the
theme “BAPS Ek Parivar”.
In the presence of Pujya Jnanpurush Swami and Pujya Narayanmurti Swami,
the Shibir taught each of the Bal/Balikas present what it means to
be Ek Parivar – showing them how to become one and the benefits
they can gain from it.
Both days had a variety of sessions which
provided the Bal/Balikas with experiences of teamwork, unity and
strength. The Indoor Sports Session encapsulated the teamwork and
building as each and everyone was able to play as one team against
each other. Presentations on how and why to become ek parivar were
presented, leaving a lasting impact on the young listeners.
A presentation on how Our Guru Pramukh Swami
Maharaj is Our Friend was explained by P. Jnanpurush Swami. It sent
forth the message of why we need to become and stay as Ek Parivar
– to obey Swamishri’s agna and experience true happiness.
The Shibir also featured separate outings
for the Balaks and Balikas, encouraging a closer bond between them
and promoting the feeling of a family unit. The Balaks visited a
Putt Putt Golf centre, enjoying the various mini-golf courses, while
the Balikas toured Featherdale Wildlife Park, experiencing close
encounter with native animals such as koalas.
In conclusion, each Balak/Balika left with
not just unforgettable memories, but also a very unique memento
in the form of a specially designed pillow case with the words “BAPS
Ek Parivar”, to remind them to remain united and stay as one
family. Resonating within the Bal/Balikas as the shibir ended was
true harmony and unity as.
