A unique event called ‘Holi-Day’ was held on 22nd March 2008 in Sydney, Australia so that the Bal-Balikas could experience the joy and understand the significance of the festival of Holi.
The day began with children being educated on the importance of Holi and its cultural significance. They were shown videos of how Holi is celebrated today at Sarangpur. The 90 Bal-Balikas in attendance then took part in a very special Abhishek of Harikrishna Maharaj. Holi-Day featured Sports Sessions and Holi Celebrations at Parramatta Park, one of the largest parks in Sydney. The aim of these celebrations was not only for the Bal-Balikas to share in the cultural experience, but also to promote the values of teamwork and unity. The afternoon marked water and colour-based activities such as Water Balloon Race, Balloon Target and Water Pistol Games.
