    Children's Diwali Celebration

The spectacle that is Diwali is the most recognized and important festivals on the Hindu calendar. It is important for children become involved and enjoy it in its true spirit, while understanding its origins and importance.
On 2nd November 2008, BAPS Sydney Mandir held an exciting Children’s Diwali Celebration. The day started with deep pragatya and a brief presentation on the essence of Diwali. The balaks then were organised into their own teams and played ‘Diwali Detective’ making them search around the mandir for questions and clues. Solving and finding the answers about the origins of Diwali.
The children kept in mind a video of Bapa’s arshirvad shown after a short break. Bapa’s words were kept in mind as an interactive creative word game was played by two teams which got all the spectators involved in how they see and celebrate Diwali.
Physically the balaks were challenged as they undertook various sports and games including a session of dodge-bal. Following the program, lunch was served with ice-cream. And topping off the day, each bal/balika received a gift bag full of goodies.
