During March and April 2011, Bal-Balika Shibirs were organized by BAPS centers in Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Melbourne in Australia in the presence of Jnanpurush Swami and Adarshmuni Swami.
Over 300 balaks and balikas aged between 7 and 13 took part in the shibirs based on the theme ‘1781 – Swaminarayan Sampradaya’. Through interactive presentations and activity-based breakout sessions, the children learnt about topics such as Ekantik Dharma, Sadhana, Five Eternal Realities, Moksha and Upasana.
Many children pledged to do regular satsang reading, observe a fast on ekadashi, do ghar sabha, study harder and reduce the time spent on TV and internet as a form of personal sadhana. All were inspired to live better lives in accordance with the principles of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and the wishes of Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
