Children's Cultural Programme
22 July 2012
Adelaide, Australia

In a time when children are growing apart from their parents, disrespecting elders and getting caught up in bad company, Pramukh Swami Maharaj inspires satsang and sanskar.

On Sunday 22 July, children of BAPS Bal Mandal in Adelaide presented a cultural programme celebrating how these dual values are taught to us by the Shikshapatri, the sacred scripture of ethics written by Bhagwan Swaminarayan.

40 balaks and young kishores performed dances and dramas on respecting parents, studying hard and keeping good company.  There was also an impressive tabla recital where balaks and shishus demonstrated their talents by playing different beats in synchronised style.  The various performances were weaved together by a parayan on the importance of obeying the Shikshapatri so that we can live a happy and fruitful life.

The audience of over 500 people included Jnanpursh Swami, who spoke on the importance of bal sanskar, and Adarshmuni Swami.  All were enthralled by the performances of the talented young children, and the volunteer effort that went into planning the event.

Following the programme, many guests vowed to regularly attend the Sunday sabha and spend more time together as a family.
