During
the evening assembly, the students of The Swaminarayan School offered
their talents before a tightly-packed haveli with a series of excellent
group and individual performances. Dressed in their smart school uniforms,
four pupils opened the evening’s programme with a wonderful speech
in Gujarati, illustrating the cultural values instilled at the school.
Three excellent kirtans followed, accompanied by rhythmical beats of
the tabla, melodious sounds of the sitar and the soft notes from the
flute, exhibiting the array of talents acquired by these young children.
A colourful dance was then performed before a stunning musical tabla
talent show impressed the audience. The grand finale demonstrated the
Sanskrit skills of the pupils, chanting a succession of Vedic shlokas,
followed by the respective translations in English. Viveksagar Swami
discussed the achievements of the Swaminarayan School with pride, discussing
the importance of cultural and social values.
The School has achieved
first place in the Borough of Brent Performance Tables. The School has
also constantly achieved high standards at Key Stage 3. The School is
successfully preparing students for university entrance – giving
them access to some of the best universities in the country, including
Oxford. 100% of Sixth Form Leavers go to university.
Swamishri praised the
young students and emphasised the importance of instilling moral values
at a young age, offering his gratitude to the headmaster and the respective
