On
Saturday 2nd July, the 9th tournament was played at Alperton Goals,
London. The event was attended by 48 teams, each consisting of 7 players
– supervised and coached by their managers. The group stages
were tough with many close and nail-biting games. The winning spirit
and enthusiasm could be seen in every player with the referees noted
that all the games were played with great sportsmanship. The top two
teams of each group qualified to the finals, which on paper looked
to be an exhilarating set of fixtures. After the league finals, the
champions of each league qualified to the semi finals of the Pramukh
Cup. The final was between Finchley & London A with London A coming
out as winners, in a well-fought final. The winners and runners-up
of each cup final received gold and silver medals and the managers
and star players of each league received special awards.
