Birmingham Bal and Balika mandal held its annual children’s party on Saturday 24th December 2005 to celebrate Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s 85th birthday in the presence of Pujya Yagnatilak Swami and Pujya Manoharmurti Swami from London.

An action packed afternoon for Bal, Balika, Shishu’s and parents was planned. The Shishu mandal started the programme with Jaynad and Dhoon. After that it was a fun filled three hours, lots of games, prizes, sweets, pizza, chips, ice-cream and goodie bags for all. The highlight of the party was a special balloon room for the Shishu’s.
For many this was their first Janma Jayanti party. A new Balika said “it’s the most fun I’ve ever had” and a parent commented “the kids really enjoyed it and the karyakars have worked really hard”. It was a fantastic and successful party which lifted the spirits of the bal-balikas and parents for the new term in 2006.
Finally the Santos judged the bal mandal and parents colouring competition and awarded the end of year mandir team points winner prizes for the highest points earned since the start of term. Over 100 bal-balikas, parents and karyakars attended the party.
