On
Sunday, 4th., December, Wellingborough Bal/Balika mandal teamed up with
their counterparts from Milton Keynes in celebrating its' annual party.
This yearly event took a new course this year in that a total of 24
participants were taken to a game of bowling. The two hour session was
organised in such a manner that both mandals were deliberately mixed
in order that a better understanding developed between themselves. Following
the bowling the group returned to the Mandir where they participated
in a short Delhi Akshardham quiz on the screen. The audience were also
treated to an Akshardham slide show. An Annkut organised by the Balika
Mandal composing of several dishes was placed before Thakorji and all
sang the thal. Prayers were also said for Swami Shree's well being.
The session was concluded by a splendid dinner party.
WELLINGBOROUGH BAL
MANDAL CELEBRATES
SWAMI SHREES'S JAYANTI
On Saturday, 3rd.,
December, Wellingborough Bal Mandal celebrated Pramukh Swami's 85th
Jayanti in traditional style. Darshan Patel together with chorus gave
a first class recital in performing the kirtan "Ghanu Jivo ho
Jivan adhar..." This was immediatelly followed by Vandan Popat
giving an inimitable solo performance in playing an old age pensioner
who had just returned from visiting Delhi Akshardham. What was unusual
about Vandan's performance was his style of delivery in the Indian
Kathiawadi dialect in praising Pramukh Swami's monumental effort in
Delhi. Both the kirtan and speech were well appreciated by all present. |
