A Inter-Cultural evening
was held on 28th June 2006 to celebrate the success of the Complementary
schools.
The event was organised by Leicester Complementary Schools Trust. The
Swaminarayan Hindu Mission is recognised as one of the Complementary
Schools that provides after school support to school age children and
teaches religion, cultural, social, recreational and gujarati language
at the Leicester Sunday school.
The Leicester Complementary Schools Trust aims to promote this learning
and allow pupils to enjoy services in both complementary and mainstream
schools.

the awards from The Right Worshipful Lord Mayor of Leicester.
Bhavna Tailor received
award for passing her A - Level Gujarati with A Grade.
Dharmika Tailor received
award for passing GCSE Level Gujarati with A Grade.
Both the girls also received
'Best Students of the Year' awards.
A total of some 100 pupils received awards and certificates for other
languages. 300 people were present at the ceremony.

and Dharmika Tailor:
They both study at Rushey
Mead Secondary School, Leicester.
They are both high achievers in their school with potential to pass
their GCSE exams with high grades.
Bhavna gave her Gujarati
exams at the age of 14yrs and passed with A* in A level. In Mandir she
has passed all satsang exams and passed with 1st class in all of them.
The last exams she gave was Pravin in 2005. Bhavna also helps in Balika
Mandal as a sah- Sanchalika and teaches Gujarati.
Dharmika
gave her Gujarati exams at the GCSE Level and passed with A grade at
the age of 13yrs. She also has passed her Satsang exams. This year she
will be sitting Parichay exams. She also helps with the teaching in
Gujarati class.
