    ‘One World – One Family’
East London Bal-Balika Party

Tuesday 9 February 2010, East London

Over 80 young children from East London attended an exciting party organised on the evening of Tuesday 9 February 2009 at Wanstead High School. An evening of fun and games, interspersed with delicious food and inspiring prasangs provided a great balance of laughter and learning.

The floor was divided into four continents of the world, with groups of children rotating between the areas. Each section contained an entertaining mix of games, activities, prasangs from the life of Pramukh Swami Maharaj and a short quiz.

A video, entitled ‘BAPS Ek Parivar’, reinforced the theme of the party by demonstrating the unity of devotees across the world who continue to work as one family for a common goal. Yagnatilak Swami then spoke of Swamishri’s past and current vicharan across the world, before a competition to unveil the ‘best dressed Balak and Balika’.

A sumptuous meal followed thereafter including a delightful chocolate fondue for dessert. A special gift was offered to everyone that attended which was comprised of a map of the world and an activity book.

The party proved to be an overwhelming success with children and parents expressing their happiness, some already looking forward to the next party!
