Three weeks before the Bal Parayan, a meeting with P. Aksharvandan Swami and Bal Sanchalaks was arranged to discuss Bal Parayan details. P. Aksharvandan Swami made calls to India got the material for Bal Parayan for Bal Ghanshyam. Gujarati teachers aided in transliterating the drama script.
Practice & Selection Process
Two weeks before the program, the selection process was started. Balaks with good singing abilities were selected for stuti, dhoon, prarthana, and kirtan. Balaks with good gujarati speaking abilities were selected for shloka gnaan, gujarati speech, and bal parayan nirupan. Some balaks were asked and others assigned.
Bal 1 participated in dances. With the exception of a couple Bal 1 balaks, Bal 2 and 3 participated in stuti, dhoon, prarthana, kirtan, drama, and speech.
Once the selection was made, Manish bhai, bal parent coordinator sent out announcement messages to the parents about practice schedule and such.
Parent helped with gujarati bal parayan nirupan practice. During practice on Saturdays, different karyakars took different parts of the program.
Vadil mandal coordination was done as well and got their feedback on the schedule, hence the decision of giving balaks the prime time in sabha was made.
Schedule
Bal Parayan was based mostly on Ghanshyam Charitra. The parayan pujan was conducted by balaks as well, where the vadils helped.
Other prpgrammes included Speeches, Kirtans, Dance…etc.
The Game Show on schedule was the modified version of 'Street Smarts.’ Video interviews were taken on Aug. 10. 9 min 30 sec video was compiled. The hosts during the interview were Nikit and Ghanshyam. 4 people (older karyakars) were asked questions about American culture (i.e Sing the National Anthem, Who wrote the declaration of independence? Who won the Superbowl?). 4 people (balaks and kishores) were asked questions about Indian culture (i.e Who is India’s president? Sing the Indian National Anthem, Who freed India? etc).
Great, flawless, teamwork between different departments and involving all the balaks was great, it was professional, 90% done in gujarati which was awesome, Sabha was quite refreshing, it was a demonstration of great team work, dedication, and the relationship that you have fostered with the kids, Excellent!
Bal Sanchalak, Riteshbhai, made a video presentation to show the love that Swamishri has for kids. It also included Bapa’s ashirvad.
