New Year’s Resolutions
Jai Swaminarayan
As the year draws to a close very soon, people all over the world are making New Year’s resolutions and decisions that will change the following year for the better. The beginning of the New Year is also a good time to make a fresh start. It is a time to make new friends but more importantly make amends with old enemies.
The New Year is also a good time to set new targets for the future. It is a time where one needs to reflect internally and think about where they want to go in the future. What do I want to become? Where do I see myself in ten years time? Am I doing what I need to get there? If not, what should I do to get there?
These are all the kinds of questions we need to ask ourselves in the New Year so that the target is set for the upcoming months of the New Year.
Along these lines, it is also a great time to analyse our position in Satsang. Sit down and ask yourself where you were three years ago and where you are today. It is a time to ask how involved you are in satsang, how much seva did you do? How many satsang exams did you take? How much time did you spend in Ghar Sabha? Are there any new niyams you can take?
The New Year is a brilliant time to get into gear and change your life for the better. Make the change for the New Year!
