Shriji Maharaj often told all those around him about the importance of Gunatitanand Swami. He explained to all that since Gunatitanand Swami was his abode and ideal devotee they had always been together and will remain so forever.
On 28 October 1800 (Kartik sud 11, Samvat 1857) Ramanand Swami gave bhagwati diksha to Nilkanth Varni. For such a special day, Ramanand Swami invited all his devotees from far and wide. Along with other devotees, Mulji Bhakta from Bhadra also arrived in Piplana. Mulji Bhakta (later called Gunatitanand Swami) and Nilkanth Varni had known each other since before they came on this earth. But, it was in Piplana that the two of them, Brahman and Parabrahman, met for the first time on this Earth.
Mulji Bhakta was overjoyed when he saw Nilkanth Varni! They hugged like best friends meeting after a very long time. Nilkanth Varni thereafter spoke to all the devotees that had come to meet him, saying, “This Mulji Bhakta is always with me. In the future, he will spread my glory everywhere.”
On hearing this, Ramanand Swami was delighted and said, “You are right! Mulji is very great.” Nilkanth Varni went on, “Not only is he great, he is my home, the human form of Aksharbrahman.”
This was the beginning of Shriji Maharaj revealing the greatness of Mulji Bhakta to everyone. They were together not just on this Earth, but also beyond the universe. He was Bhagwan and Mulji was Aksharbrahman, his ideal devotee.
Another time, Shriji Maharaj was in Bhadra. He was going to have lunch at Mulji Bhakta’s house, but got there earlier than expected. At that time, Mulji had gone to his farm for some work and was not at home. His mother, Sakarba, was busy cooking. Once Maharaj had arrived, Sakarba got a seat for him to sit on. Maharaj lovingly asked Sakarba, “Mother, does your Mulji ever remember me?”
“Oh yes Maharaj! He remembers you all day, every day. He does not forget you even for a single moment. Even when he is busy working in the fields or sitting here at home, his mind is still on you. I feel that Mulji does not love anybody more than you in this world.”
“I also constantly remember Mulji,” said Maharaj with a smile.
Sakarba continued, “When he was little, he used to tell us about all your divine actions, such as your sacred thread ceremony (janoi vidhi), your travels in the forests, and your arrival in Loj. He even told me, ‘Maharaj will certainly come to our house one day and eat food prepared by your hands.’ ”
On hearing this Maharaj smiled and said, “Mother! You might not be able to understand, but your son, Mulji, is my Akshardham. He used to constantly see me even before coming to this earth. He is such a true devotee that I cannot live without him even for a moment.”
In this way, Shriji Maharaj explained the great glory of his ideal servant, Mulji Bhakta.
