Love and Care of Yogiji Maharaj

It was a hot and humid day in March 1952. The day before had been Ekadashi and Yogibapa had observed a nirjala upvas (waterless fast).

Today, despite the heat, Yogiji Maharaj was joyously doing vicharan in the villages of the Vadodara district. His divine travels brought him to the village of Saring. Yogibapa visited almost all the houses of this village. He showered blessings on every villager with true love and affection.

After all the padhramanis (house visits), Yogibapa visited a devotee’s home for lunch. He loving offered thal to Thakorji and then sat to begin his meal.

But, before Yogibapa could start having his food, in came a devotee...

“Let’s go Bapa. Please come now.” He asked Yogibapa to hurry and visit his home.

His home was the only home Yogiji Maharaj had not been able to visit in the morning because no one was home. The devotee had been to Ahmedabad all morning. Even now, he was in a rush as he had to leave again for Ahmedabad. He was pressing Yogibapa to visit his house immediately.

All the sadhus and volunteers were a bit angry about this devotee’s hurried request. Knowing that this devotee’s house was at the other end of the village and Yogibapa had not taken lunch, they explained to the devotee that Yogibapa would visit his place later.

Yogiji Maharaj got up. Leaving lunch aside, he requested one of the sadhus to come with him and went to the devotee’s house. Without eating and having fasted the previous day, Yogiji Maharaj went for the padhramani and pleased the devotee. Such was the love and care of Yogiji Maharaj.
