A mother’s love is unmatched by any other. Shastriji Maharaj also displayed such unmatched love towards all devotees, as well as others. Just like a mother, he did not give up on any soul. He too tirelessly worked to help all reach their potential.
Once Shastriji Maharaj was in Bochasan celebrating the Jal Jhilani festival. The next day Hira Mukhi, a notorious bandit of the Charotar region, sponsored a meal at the mandir for Swamishri, the sadhus and devotees. Many people feared him and nobody dared to challenge him. Even the police were unable to lay their hands on him.

Swamishri accepted the offer with a view to help him change for the good. Swamishri always looked at the potential in everyone. At lunch, Swamishri served everyone, but he did not eat. Hira Mukhi heard this and he came straight to Swamishri to enquire about the reason. Swamishri fearlessly looked him straight in the eyes and responded, “Your behaviour is not pure. According to Maharaj’s command I cannot eat.” After a few moments of silence, Hira Mukhi asked, “Swami, what should I do so that you will eat?” Swamishri immediately gripped his hands and instantly Hira Mukhi felt the divinity of Swamishri.

Hira Mukhi bowed at Swamishri’s feet. Swamishri continued to hold his hands and said, “If you accept the vows of Satsang and become a satsangi, then I will eat.” Without hesitation, Hira Mukhi accepted, “Make me a satsangi.”

A mother lovingly works continuously to help her child become a better person. Similarly, Shastriji Maharaj was also a loving mother to all those he came into contact with. He taught them right from wrong and helped them to reach their potential.
