Compassion for an Ailing Boy

In 1999, a fisherman’s young son had a serious accident in Valsad. He was rushed to the Mahavir General Hospital in Surat. He was in a coma.

On hearing about Prashant’s bad condition, Swamishri was pained and worried about his life. A few days later Swamishri arrived in Surat.

One morning, Swamishri suddenly wished to visit Prashant in hospital. Within no time Swamishri left for the hospital. His car could not reach the hospital gate because of roadwork. So, Swamishri walked along the uneven heaps of mud with the help of the sevak Sadhus. Despite his fragile health and age, Swamishri reached the hospital. In the intensive care unit he gently touched Prashant’s head and heart with his hands and called out to him, “Prashant, Jai Swaminarayan...” Then he placed a garland of flowers around Prashant’s neck and chanted the Swaminarayan mantra for his recovery. Once again Swamishri blessed Prashant and his father, Shantilal. He assured him that Prashant would get well.

On leaving the hospital, Swamishri once again jumped across the two-and-a-half-feet wide ditches with the help of the sevak Sadhus and walked a quarter of a kilometre back to the car.
Swamishri was now satisfied, for personally visiting prashant. He was not tired. He was not disturbed either about going through all the discomfort and difficulties for a poor, ailing boy.

After Swamishri’s blessings, Prashant recovered fully.
