Parent's Day Everyday

Kalpesh was one of the more active youths at the mandir. Just like all his other friends at the mandir, he had grown up coming to bal mandal and kishore mandal . But now that he was working, he didn't have as much free time as before. Now his dad had retired and he was working to support his family. Still, Kalpesh had managed to attend the mandir every Sunday. But it was getting harder and harder to stay involved at the mandir.
After four long years, Kalpesh was going to see Swamishri. Swamishri was coming to Los Angeles. Swamishri's schedule was jam packed. ‘‘Will we get to tell Swami about our yuvak mandal?” thought Kalpesh. It just so happened that Swamishri had some free time. Kalpesh was told to give a report to Swamishri about the yuvak mandal .

Swamishri was having lunch.

“Swami Bapa, every year we celebrate Mother's Day and Father's Day at the mandir.”

“Really?”

“This year we celebrated Mother's Day by making khasta-kachori for our mothers. All of us youths came to the mandir at seven in the morning. We worked all day and didn't finish until evening!”

Bapa started laughing. “See, you are lucky! You only to have cook one day out of the whole year. But your mothers have to cook for you everyday. Actually, for them, everyday is like Mother's Day. Just think how hard they work for you. Now you understand their importance.”

Swamishri teaches us that everyday is Mother's and Father's day. Our parents have worked so hard to raise us and take care of us. The least that we can do is show our gratitude by bowing down to them every morning. It is Swamishri's agna to do panchang pranam to them every morning.
