Swami Bapa was in Mehsana. He was writing letters to some devotees. When he finished writing one letter, he realized that he had forgotten to date the letter. He asked one of the other sadhus, “What is today’s date?”

To his surprise, all the santos in the room started laughing. Why? Because today’s date was 10 December 1994. The Indian tithi was Magshar sud 8. It was Swami Bapa’s 74th birthday today. In just a few hours there was to be a grand celebration of Swami Bapa’s birthday by 90,000 devotees. Such an important date! Still, Swami Bapa was not aware of his own birthday.
