“We definitely need to discuss this with Swamishri.”

Pujya Doctor Swami and Pujya Narendraprasad Swami slowly opened the door into Swamishri’s room. Swamishri was seated on a small cushioned blanket writing letters. He slowly looked up as the sadhus walked in.
“Oh... come over here and sit down...”

All of a sudden the power went out. There was darkness in the room. The sadhus could just barely see Swamishri. They slowly walked near him and managed to sit down.

For several minutes they chatted with Swamishri. Suddenly, the power came back and all of the lights turned on. The sadhus were shocked at what they saw. They thought to themselves,“Who else but Swamishri would think to do such a thing!”

When the lights had gone out, Swamishri had secretly moved his own cushioned blanket underneath the sadhus as they sat down. He himself had been sitting on the ground throughout their conversation. But how could they see all this in the dark?

Many times we ourselves race to grab a good seat. We sometimes insist on having a seat up front during a car ride. Swamishri, on the other hand, never misses a chance to respect others and remain humble.
