| Once, Swamishri was in Mumbai and surrounded by children. A young boy asked, “Swami Bapa! When Ghanshyam Maharaj was young, what did he do during the day? What was his daily routine?”
Swamishri was silent for a moment. The boy was smart, and said, “Swami Bapa, God resides in you. So, you must know the answer, because you must have seen it.” Swamishri was touched by the child’s love and replied, “Ghanshyam Maharaj used to wake up early every morning and pray to God. After a bath, he would wear clean clothes and do puja. Then, he would bow down to his parents. His mother, Bhaktimata, would serve him breakfast. Then, he would study the shastras, such as the Vedas, Upanishads, and Purans, from his father, Dharmadev. Then he would go to play with friends. Sometimes, he would go to Meen Sarovar or to Khampa Talavadi. Sometimes he would practice with the wrestlers.”
“In Ayodhya, after lunch, Ghanshyam would go to the Shiv Mandir to rest. Then he would complete his studies and play with friends again. In the evening, he went to every mandir for darshan. Then he would come home and eat dinner. At night, he would always pray to God before going to sleep.”
On hearing Swamishri, all the children were inspired to set up a timetable to bring regularity in their lives and live a life full of devotion.
