Swamishri wins a heart

On the third of May 1982 Swamishri arrived in Dhuliya. Although Varkheda wasn’t on his schedule, Swamishri expressed his wish to go there. The heat was suffocating and there was a power blackout, so there were no fans or cold water to provide relief from the heat. After visiting the homes of each and every devotee, he went to the neighbouring village of Japi to meet a devotee named Madhubhai. Everyone was totally against this idea, but he was firm. As soon as Swamishri entered his house, he said, “We’ve come to fulfil your wish.” On hearing this Madhubhai was overjoyed. Meanwhile everyone else wondered what this wish could be. They soon found out that two years previously, Madhubhai had asked Swamishri, “Where should I dig a well on my farm?”

Before replying Swamishri asked, “Where are you planning to dig it?” Using a simple sketch Madhubhai showed Swamishri the spot for the proposed well. Swamishri advised him to dig it at the lower end of the field. When Madhubhai began digging, he hit water only 50 feet down. He was delighted, and he took a vow not to use the water from his well, until Swamishri had first drunk it.

Swamishri found out about this, and to fulfill his wish he had arrived at Japi that day. After offering the water to Thakorji, Swamishri had some himself and then sent the rest back. Seeing Swamishri arrive personally to fulfill his wish, Madhubhai was overcome with tears.

Swamishri has won the hearts of all by his obliging nature.
