Keeping a promise

Keeping a promise

The day before Children’s Day, a balak named Hari Depala went to meet Swami Bapa.
“Tomorrow is Children’s Day Swami Bapa. Promise me that you will come to our programme at 6:30 in the evening,” he said. Swami Bapa held Hari’s hand and promised him that he would be there for the programme.
Being the guru and president of our Sanstha, Swami Bapa is always very busy, meeting people, writing letters and doing so much more. It is truly amazing to see that he always spares time to try to make everyone happy, especially us kids.
The next day after eating lunch, a dentist came to check Swami Bapa’s teeth. (Uh- Oh! We all know how long that takes.) When Swami Bapa awoke from his rest, it was very late in the afternoon. Bapa had a really busy evening ahead of him. If Swami Bapa did all of the things he was supposed to do, he would have missed the children’s programme. However, because Bapa loves kids so much, he never forgets them. Bapa cancelled many of his daily activities like his routine walk, etc. To him, it was all worth it for the kids. When the clock struck 6:30 p.m., Swami Bapa walked into the Children’s Day assembly. Everyone clapped with happiness. At the end of the programme the overjoyed children ran to thank Bapa. Hari ran to Swami Bapa and HUGGED him, thanking him for having kept his promise.
From this incident we realise Bapa loves us all very much; that Bapa will do anything and everything to keep us happy. Bapa keeps his promises to us, but do we keep our promises to him? Just like Swami Bapa does so many things to please us, likewise we should love him with all our hearts, and readily do anything for him, even if it is something as simple as keeping a promise.
