Catching us all

Catching us all

Once, during Swamishri’s dinner, the sanchalaks of Anand Bal Mandal were being introduced. When Pintu Parekh was introduced, Swamishri said, “I recognize him. When he was young he used to recite many Swamini Vatos.” Pintu said, “I still do.” When asked to recite one, Pintu recited, “To one who harbours desires, Maharaj does not respond. For example, once, Maharaj was eating rice and yogurt. At that time everyone wished that Maharaj give them prasad. But I (Gunatitanand Swami) didn’t. So He called me and gave me the prasad.” Pleased by his choice, Swamishri selected an item of prasad from the thal and gave it to Pintu. Seeing this, another youth called out, “Bapa! I’ve been selected for the Anand cricket team. Won’t you give me some catching practice?” Instantly, Swamishri picked up a sweet item from his thal and gave it to him! The youth completed a perfect catch giving everyone present an amazing memory!

In another incident, Swami Bapa was having breakfast in Houston. Yogi, a seven-year-old boy, was looking at Swami with folded hands. Swami told a sadhu present to prepare a dish for the little boy. Just a while earlier, Yogi had politely refused breakfast (offered by a sadhu) because he wanted to enjoy Swami’s darshan. But at Swami’s word, Yogi sat down for breakfast. Five minutes later, Swami Bapa had finished breakfast and got up. Yogi, seeing that he was on his own, started eating hurriedly.

Swami Bapa perceived Yogi’s haste, so he went up to him, placed his hand on Yogi’s head and said, “Don’t worry, eat with ease, we are still here. Do you want anything?” Yogi heaved a sigh of relief.
