We are from Akshardham

We are from Akshardham

On 14 May 2004, Swamishri was getting ready to depart from London for New York. Nainesh Patel, a local youth, started talking to Swamishri while he was having dinner.

“London is like your home. You should never leave from here.”

Swamishri’s understanding of the atma followed,
“Friend! Wherever I go is home. Akshardham is eternal and everywhere. Whether I am in a palace or in a small villager’s hut, I am always at home. Therefore, it doesn’t matter if you are from London or anywhere else. Understand your atma. We are from Akshardham.”

Vishwavihari Swami phoned Swamishri, who was in Nairobi. “When are you coming back to Ahmedabad?”
Swamishri gave him a humorous, but philosophical answer,
“I don’t come or go. I am here in Nairobi and over there in Ahmedabad as well. I am everywhere.”

In 1992, right after Swaminarayan Akshardham in Gandhinagar had been inaugurated during the Yogiji Maharaj Birth Centenary Celebrations, Pramukh Swami Maharaj left Gandhinagar for Nadiad. In Nadiad, Swamishri was sitting with a few devotees and sadhus when one of the devotees said, “Do you feel lonely here? There were tens of thousands of people in Gandhinagar and there are only five people here.”

Swamishri replied, “I have God with me, so I am never lonely. I continuously enjoy his company. If you don’t have God, you would feel lonely even if you are with all the people in the world.”

Once, Janmangal Swami noticed how busy Swamishri was, “You are always busy doing work.”
Swamishri replied, “I am never busy doing work. I am always worshipping Bhagwan Swaminarayan.”
