Devotees Affection

Devotees Affection

In 1974, a majestic celebration honouring Swamishri was held at Alexandra Palace in London. A few days later, Swamishri was back in India travelling in the nondescript village of Rohishala in Saurashtra region. He was staying in a mud house. One morning, Subhash, a youth from London travelling with Swamishri, commented, “This is a far cry from Alexandra Palace!”
Without hesitation, Swamishri replied, “Subhash, a hundred Alexandra Palaces do not add up to this little mud house. Look at the affection of these poor devotees.”

In 1982, just a few days after returning to India from London, Swamishri went straight to the villages in the Khandesh region of Maharashtra. The scorching summer heat was unbearable and the villages lacked even simple facilities, such as indoor toilets. Yet, Swamishri was equally at ease in these small villages as he was in London and toured them with the same enthusiasm.
