“Let them sleep.”

“Let them sleep.”

It was summer vacation time at the end of the 1968-9 academic year and many of the students had gone home from the Akshar Purushottam Chhatralay in Vidyanagar. However, students in one of the rooms were reading late into the night and had their room lights on. At around 1:00 a.m. they heard a knock on the door. The door wasn’t locked so it squeaked open and to the students’ surprise there stood Swamishri.
Figuring that Jaykrishna Bhagat and the other parshads were already asleep, Swamishri came to the room where the lights were on.
Swamishri looked exhausted from all the travelling. One of the students offered to go and wake the parshads up. Swamishri stopped him and said, “Let them sleep. We will just sleep here on the floor.”
So, Swamishri, the president of the Sanstha, slept on the floor while the students went to sleep in their beds!
