Our True Friend

Our True Friend

In London there were two brothers, Vijay and Devesh and they always came to the mandir together.  They would come to do the darshan of Thakorji and Swamishri together.  They would also sit in the sabha together.  At the end of sabha, Swamishri would bless them with joyful smiles.  Then they would have prasad together.  And finally they would go home together.  Almost everything, these two brothers did together.

One day only Vijay came to the mandir.  After doing Thakorji’s darshan he came for Swamishri’s darshan.  Swamishri glanced at him with a blessed smile.  Then suddenly, Swamishri noticed that someone was missing.  Swamishri asked, “Vijay, where is Devesh today?”  Vijay was so surprised that Swamishri had remembered their names!  Vijay was also happy that Swamishri noticed that he had come alone.

Vijay said, “Swami, today he has gone to meet his friend.”

Swamishri responded right after saying, “Wah! I am his friend too!”  Swamishri then said with deep affection, “Please tell him to come and meet me also!”

When we look at this, Swamishri is a real friend to all kids.  Swamishri is a friend who loves us, he is a friend who is eager to meet us, and he is a friend who guides us on the right path.  Swamishri is a friend who remembers us even if we forget him.  We must never forget him in any way and we must always keep him as our very best friend for life.
