Remembering and Caring for His Devotees

Tyagvallabh Swami writes of one incident that he witnessed, “I was in Dharmaj with Swamishri. We went to A.P. Patel’s house. A.P. Patel was an elderly devotee and was bedbound due to illness. Swamishri blessed him and sat in the car to return to the mandir. Four sadhus were seated in the Fiat car in front, waiting for the sadhu that was supporting Swamishri to join them. Then C.M. Patel of London went to sit in that car, which would leave the sadhu on his own. So, I told another devotee to explain this to C.M. Patel and ask him to walk to the mandir, which was nearby. Swamishri immediately disagreed. He told the devotee to tell two sadhus to come out of the car and walk so that C.M. Patel would not have to walk to the mandir. The cars took off and on our way to the mandir, Swamishri explained that as C.M. Patel has arthritis he would not have been able to walk the distance.”

He remembers the specific needs of his devotees: “Make sure you put a chair for Ishwarcharan Swami in the meeting. He has a back problem. Don’t let him sit on the floor.” “Have you made arrangements for Balmukund Swami? Make sure his room is on the ground floor. He cannot climb the stairs.” “Don’t force Tyagvallabh Swami to eat sweets. His sugar level is really high.” “Make sure you feed Sarvamangal properly…he is not well…”
