Without a Trace of Anger!

Without a Trace of Anger!

In 1967, Swamishri left Gondal for Sarangpur via Gadhada in an open jeep. The roads looked like rivers because of the torrential rains. The driver took the Vallabhipur road and at around midnight they arrived in Khambhda. The driver was half asleep when Swamishri noticed that the jeep was in an irrigation channel. Swamishri told him to stop the vehicle; Swamishri got out and noticed that the muddy slope ended just a few feet ahead. Swamishri instructed the driver to turn the car around. To the driver’s surprise the car wouldn’t budge. They checked the car’s fuel tank and realized that there wasn’t a drop of petrol left! Without a trace of anger, Swamishri told the driver and a devotee to wait there with the jeep while he and the others would walk to Sarangpur, about 10 kilometres away, and send fuel for the vehicle.

Taking his sandals in one hand and his potlu in the other, Swamishri energetically plodded through the muddy roads to Sarangpur, arriving there at around 3:00 a.m.

An ancient proverb goes, ‘The toughest hardships are ones created by accident.’ Swamishri tolerates and overcomes even those.
