Innocent Moments

Three balaks approached Swamishri, Neel, Jayesh, and Devesh. Swamishri said, "What do you want to ask?" American-born Neel said, "My dad spends all day in his business, he doesn't even sit with me or talk to me."

Swamishri took interest in the 12-year-old as if he were an adult. Swamishri asked, "Your mom is there, isn't she? I will talk to your dad. Also you must do as he says. If you do mischief and mess around then it is not proper" Neel accepted what Swamishri had to say.

Neel then said, "This is Devesh. His tongue gets stuck when he speaks." Swamishri blessed him. Neel said, "Tell Swami that incident." Then all three of them laughed, "You say it, you say it..."

Finally Neel said, "He has come from India, and his English is not that good. At school he wanted to go to the bathroom. He told the teacher (in Gujarati), 'I want to take a leak.' The teacher said, 'What?' Then he (Devesh) stood up, grabbed the teacher's hand and took her to the bathroom..."

Swamishri laughed at this innocent incident and said, "That's great, you people from Ranip (suburb of Amdavad) are brave! Don't be afraid, just like that you will learn to speak and study..."
