Purification Process

Purification Process

Ndola is one of the main towns in Zambia. Swamiji visited the famous copper mines at Chingola, an industrial complex not far from Ndola.

Next morning after puja, Swamiji penned the following thought in his diary.

"Yesterday we went to the copper mines. Giant machines and revving lorries carried away hundreds of tons of ore. Thousands of workers were engaged in constant labor. From tons of copper ore, copper is extracted and purified. To attain things of this world people labor intensely.

If one perseveres to attain God then one will surely find Him. Just as the impurities are removed before the copper is used commercially, in the same way the soul must be cleansed from the desires and vices that have adhered to it from many births.

The highway to purification is to engage the senses in satsang, listening to the talks pertaining to atma, Parmatma and the vanity of sense pleasures.

With an incessant schooling of one's emotions the ore of vices will be removed and the bliss of God be experienced."
