The Divine Card

It was a bright Sunday morning. Ankit was nearing the end of his puja. After reading his Shikshapatri, he noticed that his niyam card was missing.  Ankit went through his whole puja case but he could not find it!  He would always read his niyam card after reading the Shikshapatri.

Why was this niyam card so important to Ankit? Let's find out!

Along with Ankit, many kids had received the same niyam card.  This niyam card was given out at a shibir held in the Catskills Mountains, New York in 1996.  The unique thing about this shibir was that it was held in the presence of  Pramukh Swami Maharaj.  Bapa spent five whole days with everyone.

Swami Bapa wanted everyone to go home from the shibir with something that they could keep for the rest of their lives. It would be something that would help them in their daily lives.   He decided to write out six simple niyams for all the children and youths to follow.

Bapa himself wrote out all the niyams in English!  He didn't just copy them!  Bapa took the time to write the niyams in English just for us.  He did it because of his great love for children.

These niyams are so simple, yet Swami Bapa places great importance on them.   It reminds us of how much Bapa loves us and how he is always looking out for our best interest.  If we look at these niyams as being specially made for us, then soon they will become a part of our lives and make Bapa very happy.

Now, back to Ankit.

After a lot of searching, Ankit finally found the card in his little brother's hands who was trying to read it.  Ankit sat his little brother down and began to explain the niyams to him.
