Nitinbhai, a volunteer for the assembly arrangement in the mandir, expressed his feelings before Swamishri in not being able to listen to the spiritual discourses because of his seva. He asked as to what was important, doing seva or listening to the discourse.
Swamishri advised, “One must do one’s seva but one should also sit and listen to the discourse for thirty to forty-five minutes. This will enable one to absorb spiritual knowledge and understanding. In doing mere seva one declines when someone insults or tells one off. Whereas, listening to spiritual discourses will endow one with spiritual knowledge and understanding so that one will not fall back.”
