A father had brought his ailing child from Junagadh for Swamishri’s blessings. The boy was suffering from Hodgkin’s disease, a cancer of the lymph nodes, and had innumerable tumours all over his body. An attendant sadhu asked Swamishri for some flowers so that he could give them to him as  blessings. But Swamishri said that he would like to pray for the boy and bless him himself. Swamishri came out of his room. The summer heat was oppressive.

Swamishri went to the child, Allaukik Madhav Bhatt, and initiated him into Satsang by giving him a little water in his hand and chanted the vartman mantra. Then Swamishri sprinkled the holy water from his morning puja on the boy’s head and body and chanted the Swaminarayan mantra. Swamishri prayed for the liberation of his soul and sprinkled flower petals on his head.

Swamishri consoled the boy’s father, He has cancer; God will be compassionate upon him. His will shall prevail. I have prayed that he does not suffer further.”

To the child Swamishri said, “You keep remembering God. You have my blessings for no pain.”
