He Lives For God

He Lives For God

The local Jain community in Nairobi had invited Swamishri to a luncheon at their mandir. Before lunch was served, the trustees of the Jain mandir desired to hold a small function in honor of Swamishri. A nice stage had been built for the occasion, near the dining area. A packed assembly of well-wishers had gathered to receive Swamishri.

When Swamishri arrived to take his place on the stage, he noticed there was only one decorated chair on the stage. The trustees urged Swamishri to take his place on that chair.

But Swamishri politely refused and stood silently on the stage for a minute or two. The sadhus quickly realized that Swamishri was reluctant to sit on the decorated chair because there we no other arrangements made on the stage to place Thakorji.

The organizers ran hastily to fetch another chair but by then Swamishri had placed Thakorji on the decorated chair and he himself sat on a simple wooden chair.

Everybody in the assembly experienced how Swamishri is singularly devoted to God.

He always directs all honors to the Lord first.

For Swamishri, God is everything.

He lives for God.
