On 20 March 1986, Swamishri met India's President, Gyani Zail Singh, at the Presidential Palace.

After the visit, Swamishri stopped at the main entrance of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. He met the watchman there with great affection and asked about his welfare. Then he told the accompanying sadhus, "Give him some prasad, our introductory pamphlet and a picture of our spiritual succession; he helped us when we came." Only a true sadhu can love all human beings with equal love, because to him they are not just human beings, but the children of God.
